Designated an Outstanding Florida Waterway, the Little Econ Creek is unique in all that it has to offer. As a tributary of the St. Johns River, this creek flows north. Its current is sufficient to keep you moving along at a comfortable pace.
Along the way the diversity of wildlife is nothing short of stunning. In the quiet of the day you will see deer standing off in the woods or a hog rooting along the bank. Alligators sun themselves all day long seeming to sleep the day away while keeping a wary eye on all that is around them. Bald eagles and other birds of prey patrol the skies searching for just the right fish for dinner. Wading birds move quietly along the banks of the Little Econ striking at anything small and moving.
The plants and trees that line the banks do more than provide haven for birds and animals. They are a delight in themselves. The reflections on the still water that pools in the bends of the creek show the beauty of flowers and trees twice over.
This is an ecotour unlike any you will find anywhere else in all of Florida. You will not want to miss it.
